Stewart Island,

Star Gazing

Welcome to my page!
I am very privileged to live in this part of the world, where you get to see the most beautiful starry nights, with the added bonus of  being able to view the Aurora Australis.
Rakiura is the more commonly known and used Maori name. Its translated as Glowing Skies!
Stewart Island/Rakiura is the fifth Dark Sky Sanctuary, and only the second island sanctuary in the world.
As well as having these amazing night skies, Stewart Island is also is known for it's Flora & Fauna. Photographing the native birds is also a passion of mine.

If you would like to know more about Star Gazing, photographing the night sky or the possibility of seeing an Aurora, then contact me by ringing  027-757-2166

I provide an 8-inch Dobsonian telescope, 20x80 binoculars for viewing the night sky, and run 2 hour sessions for $75 per person,  Children $30, Family group,( 2 adults, 2 children) $190. Very small groups, maximum 6 persons.

Also provided comfy moon chairs, with your own snuggly blanket, hand warmers, and a cup of hot coffee, chocolate or tea. Just sit back and enjoy the stunning skies.
